The current generation of toddlers is embracing digital technology at an astounding pace. According to a recent survey, nearly 25% of toddlers will have used a smartphone by the age of two. Not only that, nearly one-third of toddlers will have used a laptop or digital camera by the time they enter pre-school.
Is your little one learning to read on an iPad?

I'm all for children learning about digital technology but sometimes it is good to let children be children & play with good old fashion toys! otherwise children will not learn how to socialise interact with adults / children other than in the digital world.

I think the younger you start the better you will be... So YES let your toddler loose on your gadgets!

Not only is my "little one" learning to read he is also learning to play the piano, and type words using an app. All good I believe.

My daughter first learnt to spell her name by using a computer. She very quickly became adept at switching it on and finding the cbeebies website. I think technology, as long as it's balanced with more traditional learning and playing activities ( and well supervised) can really enhance a child's life.

I think that you have to be a bit careful here... The art of conversation and other interpersonal skills are being lost through computers, but I do agree that you should be introducing learning aids as soon as you can.. I guess its getting a good balance!
