Broccoli & Potato Puree

A tasty early weaning recipe
Broccoli & Potato Puree

Ingredients 
  • 100g broccoli florets
  • 1 medium potato
  • Water or milk
Makes 4-6 portions 

How to make Broccoli & potato puree
  1. Roughly chop the broccoli (stalks are fine) and peel and dice the potato
  2. Put a pan on the heat and steam the diced potato for 10 minutes, then add the broccoli and steam for a further 5 minutes, until soft. Alternatively you can put the potato and broccoli in a pan and just cover with water (bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes) 
  3. Once tender take off the heat and puree with the water until smooth
  4. Thin with either water or milk

Serving suggestion
Use a steamer if possible as this helps to retain vitamins. You can add this puree to pureed meat, lentils or pulses once your little one is eating more complex flavours
