A tasty early weaning recipe
Ingredients
- 100g broccoli florets
- 1 medium potato
- Water or milk
Makes 4-6 portions
How to make Broccoli & potato puree
- Roughly chop the broccoli (stalks are fine) and peel and dice the potato
- Put a pan on the heat and steam the diced potato for 10 minutes, then add the broccoli and steam for a further 5 minutes, until soft. Alternatively you can put the potato and broccoli in a pan and just cover with water (bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes)
- Once tender take off the heat and puree with the water until smooth
- Thin with either water or milk
Serving suggestion
Use a steamer if possible as this helps to retain vitamins. You can add this puree to pureed meat, lentils or pulses once your little one is eating more complex flavours
