Becoming a Neals Yard Remedies Organic Consultant

We talk to Hazel Martin, Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic Team Leader …

1. Why did you get involved with Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic?

The opportunity to have my own business, working flexible hours, earning money, doing something I loved plus didn’t cost much to get started. Plus the Company’s product/brand reputation, their vision, the professionalism of marketing materials and the fantastic free training and ongoing support you receive.

2. What three words best describe your job?

Fun, flexible and rewarding

3. Briefly describe what being a Neal’s Yard Remedies Consultant involves.

I get to use all their lovely products, meaning I can talk with knowledge and passion when promoting them. In return, I earn a sales commission on every product sold.
I’ve found the best way to sell their products is through parties where the host is generously rewarded with free products and their guests are able to take advantage of customer offers, whilst learning more about their skin and having fun. You can also sell online via your own free replicated website, one-to-one, at coffee mornings, pamper evenings, events and fairs.
Soon after starting, I found other people were interested in the opportunity, many who didn’t have any previous experience. For everyone who joins, they attend free company training and I share what I have learnt to get them off to a flying start, then support them going forward. In return, I get rewarded. What I have learnt is like any other area in your life, if you want to succeed you need to focus on activities that bring results!

4. What advice do you give to mums asking to achieve healthier, more radiant looking skin?

Definitely look after your skin. I have seen the difference between people who look after their skin and those that don’t – the difference is scary! It only takes a minute, once in the morning and again in the evening, to give your face a good cleanse, tone and moisturize. People think they don’t have time, but it becomes a habit once you do it often enough. Also drink plenty of water, use a good SPF when in the sun, stop smoking, eat organic, get plenty of sleep (difficult I know when you are a new mum), get some daily exercise and try not to worry about anything.

5. What advice do you give to mums asking how to take care of baby’s skin?

Neal’s Yard Remedies follow the “precautionary principle”, making sure that we are fully aware of the origin and effects of ingredients before they are allowed into our bodies or the environment. Your baby’s skin absorbs the products applied to it, so those products need to be as pure as possible. Neal’s Yard Remedies use organic and natural ingredients, all carefully selected to be gentle yet effective, to bring you safe, healthy skincare for the whole family.
